Natalie's gait

Amazingly, Nat is able to remember to put her foot down without much fuss anymore. Tiffy and I would 'scold' her if she doesnt, and Melody, being very hands on, would pull her sister's ankle down on the floor keke..
she was giving an impish smile when all of us were praising her for standing properly!

First Visit to Physiotherapist

Today was the first session with Nat's physio - Sarah from Kids Focus Physiotherapy. She is located at Turf City. After a series of questions and assessing Nat's condition, she predicted that Nat would probably need at most 3 sessions to graduate Nat from physio. As for complete recovery, Sarah said that we have to keep stretching her archilles tendon, and she said Nat could recover within a year once she starts walking.
We had to purchase a set of "support" to make sure Nat dont bend her knee while she is standing as she tends to do so nowadays after the cast if off since last week, stands like a flamingo as i called Nat, putting her weight only on her right leg. During the session, Sarah tried on Nat and makes her practise standing properly/straight against the mirror. Nat did it despite all her protests! We were heartened to see that Nat could put her foot down on the ground properly, finally.

The first session ended about 2 hours later and about $200 poorer...Nat only stops crying when Sarah said ok to go. =p The next review session will be next week and then Sarah would advise whether there is a need to order a pair of gaitor from USA for Nat.

Natalie off her leg cast

Nat's leg cast was on for another 3 weeks since 1 sep 2010. It was finally removed today and her ankles were able to bend more than 90degree already, not much rashes on her legs (good). That was a relieved. However, i see that her left ankle is not as good as her right, her right could bend more. She was wailing non-stop throughout the time that the doctor sawed the cast open and removed them and while he was checking. The ortho said that he will review her in 6 weeks' time and meanwhile Nat is to see a physio. The physio is located at Turf City and she specialises in pediatric physiotherapy. Hopefully she could work wonders on Nat....

The first thing i did when we brought her home was to give her a good bath, the children's way. I sat her on the stool and showered her. Keke..she enjoyed so much so that she refused to come out of the shower!

She was sleeping comfortably with her legs off cast and we were relieved that her tendons were much 'loose' now as compared 6 weeks ago. "Jia You Natalie"

Sesame Street Live "When Elmo Grows Up"

We went with Yee Yee to see Sesame Street Show the following day. Hmmm...i think the girls enjoy Barney show more than Sesame probably bcos they are more familiar with Barney themed songs. In an occasion when the fluffy characters came off stage for interactive, Tiffy ran up to me with her booster chair "oh no! mummy they are coming to touch me!!!??!".

Barney Space Adventure

The long awaited show - Barney and his friends live at Singapore Expo (to Tiffany and Melody). They have been reminding me that we are going to Barney show ever since we got the tickets. This year, we are going with yee yee! Due to overwhelming sales, I only managed to get Cat B tickets for all of us. Hmm...not a bad view afterall.

The girls had a good time, dancing & singing to the all-time favourites Barney theme songs.

Mini Bowling

Brought the girls to Orchid Bowl @E!hub for mini bowling. Hee it is suitable for toddlers and young children to get them started on bowling. The Highway 66 Miniature Bowling comes with shorter lanes, automated bumpers and a lighter ball and that the children do not need to change to bowling shoes! Haa..Melody was adamant not to try it probably due to the noise but Tiffy was certainly having loads of fun.

Action Adventure

Chanced upon Action Adventure at United Square, Tiffy said she don mind giving it a try. Asked her if she was afraid, she said no. So, Tiffany was registered and eagerly waiting for her turn amongst the gor gors. She was very excited cos she can get to do rock climb and flying fox.
They were brought through some 'workshops', this is the warming up workshop. The instructor taught them that they had to do some warm ups before exercising.

The children were being briefed about safety tips and were showed items generally found in a first aid kit box.

Tiffany waiting patiently for her turn , after almost 1.5hours.

Finally, its her try on rock wall climbing. Tiffy din managed to reach the top the first time. But when we came back the next day, she did it!
Climbing her way up on rope net.

Managed to take a video of her doing the rope net thingy. ;)

Tip Toe Treatment (2)

Little Nat went back for review on 1st Sep. The doc reported that her legs are making some progress...the tendons are not as tight as the first visit. But she has to be casted for another 3 weeks, doc mentioned about going for physio therapy after this 2nd casting has been removed. Looking forward to the removal of cast on 22nd Sep.

For now, she still cruise and crawl in her cast as per normal...and getting naughtier. She can get angry when her sister sat together on my lap, she can push and pull her sister's hair when she is angry. :P

A day out at Sentosa

As part of celebrating her 5th birthday, we brought the girls (Tiffany and Melody) out to Sentosa. Nat Nat? We left her at home lo...we only have an afternoon before eddady had to rush back for meeting at night.
Having made sure that Melody qualifies to take luge ride, I had checked her height at home to ensure that she meets the minimum height of 85cm. We went for 2 luge rides and 2 sky rides.
Enjoying the sky rides...

Preparing to luge...

Next, after the luge, we took the light rail to Universal Studios. Erh, we just walked outside not in the Universal Studios.
At the monorail station...

Outside Universal Studios

we wandered into Hershey's chocolate world...
we customised a super big coin bank for Tiffy, with her picture sticker printed on the coin bank... I bought a Princess ice cream cake from Swensens for Tiffy...sweet isnt it... ;) Yee Yee and Ah Shan came by at night to celebrate with Tiffy before the clock strikes midnight.

see her radiant face... :)

My surprise birthday...being part 3

Both dear sis and hb gave me surprises on the same day we celebrated Tiffy's birthday. I was showered with pressies and cakes. I must confessed that i was super touched by the gesture...thank you everyone...
A super huge mahjong cake!

Here is Tiffy being the big sister helping with the candles and all

With our aunties witnessing the little ceremony...hee i get to receive ang paos from them too! :p Btw, there were so muck cakes at the end of the day that we had them for breakfast for many many days haha..and before the clock struck 12am on 29 aug, we had another birthday ceremony with my darling girls singing for me.

Happy 5th Birthday, Tiffany (Part 2)

After cake cutting and blew out the candles, the birthday girl dutifully posed for her picture to be taken.

She then said 'come, my friends, take picture!'
Then her family....

Happy 5th Birthday, Tiffany (Part 1)

We had a small birthday celebration for Tiffany on 29th Aug 2010. (That is mine birthday too!) She has turned 5! Time flies man, she is gg to be in K2 next year and next year we have to enrol her for Primary 1!

I had a super busy morning, was busy decorating the house with mickey mouse themed stuff..while eddaddy went to hunt for the florist to help pump the balloons with helium. While decorating, was busy making sure that the maid prepares the dish-aiyo just 1 dish this time, the rest of food was catered and had to make sure the kids get their breakfast and get dressed for the occasion before guest arrived.
The birthday girl! She insisted on wearing the outgrown tutu skirt...haha..a bit short though but still wearable

The buffet spread...catered from Flavours and Spices, peranakan dishes..very nice..especially the nonya otah and kueh patih...

The minnie mouse jelly-very cute and delicious, not too sweet too..it is a whopping 2.6Kgs as big as a A4 paper. But the family finished it off despite having lots of other food. The Mickey Mouse themed cake...a 1-tiered chocolate hazelnut cake from Pine Gardens..yummy as usual...
