D's Birthday

Happy Birthday to D! D is 34 this year! Gosh, time flies and mummy lost count of the candles when i was ordering the cake heehee.

This year, mummy had thought hard what to buy for D. And one dear friend suggested spa. It was a great idea cos we hardly or never went for couple spa before and it is great for D to have nice place to rest and relax. And so mummy booked a spa for 2 at Aramsa Spa, suppose to be a garden themed spa. For their signature package, we got a couple suite, a tumeric scrub, a yogurt wrap, a massage and an outdoor bath and being a weekday we get to enjoy extra 30mins stay at the couple suite.
a serene place at Bishan Park...
the rustic restroom/changing facility...we were following our therepist to our couple suite...our suite...
a dip in outdoor bath tub, filled with rose petals...after massage...spotted a cat spying on us...
we were served ginger tea and cheese cakes...yummy!
mission accomplised - a satisfied smile..
Happy Birthday to papa, lots of love from Tiffany, Melody and Natalie!

A joyful Mother's Day celebration

Look at the happy faces of us mummies! All of us appreciated the extraordinary cakes more than the professionally decorated one which can be bought from confectionary.

oops Natalie is already learning to hold a mahjong tile!

Happy Mother's Day

We went to The Icing Room at Compass Point to personalise our Mother's Day cake for 婆婆 and 奶奶. Had been planning for the event for 2 weeks already. Tiffy was excited and had been counting down to this day.

It was super crowded on Mother's Day. The shop had such a long queue that we had to come back 50mins later for our cake decorating. We paid, chose our cakes and wait for the call. There were various sizes of ready baked cake to choose from, starting from 4" to 10". We ordered 2 4" type, one for 婆婆 one for 奶奶. I thought it was a great bonding experience for all of us and an opportunity for the girls to express their creativity through hands-on cake decorating!

Starting the 1st cake, D helping out with the icing... Tiffy getting started...
both of them helping out with the decoration...
the first cake completed...tata!
putting on the finishing touches to the 1st cake!
we r getting started on the 2nd cake...
tata the 2nd cake is completed with a big heart shape right smack in the middle!
some funny moments captured during the experience...

Mother's Day Pressie

My little girls gave me my Mother's Day pressie on Sunday! It was indeed a very blissful feeling to be receiving the pressies from my little girls. As one of my frens mentioned, very soon i will be receiving 3 pressies instead of 2 now!
Tiffy drew me this picture...hmmm but she forgot to include her little sister Natalie! keke
flower cut out with the size of Melody's hand...done with teacher's help of cos...
Tiffy's pressie with 5 hand prints to form the flower petals...she proudly told me that she wrote her english name...

Little Natalie in Action

Natalie is quite apt at crawling now...watching her going here and there and surveying what her sisters were doing and wanting to participate in their games is so very cute hee.

Another day at ExplorerKids

We were back at ExploreKids again due to 'high demand'.
This time, the girls were so 'brave' and they requested to slide down themselves! Eddaddy said he could hear mummy's screams all the way. keke.
The girls produly showing off their passess...

Melody enjoying herself at the ball pool
even Natalie is crawling away, exploring on her own self...mummy had to 'catch' her before some kids ran over her...
It was tiring for the adults but endless fun for the girls.

Parenting thoughts

Sometimes wonder if i had been a good mummy, if i had taken care well enough or not, if i could have done better, alot of 'ifs'. Till I came across this article which i find it very meaningful and it really served like a checklist that Yes! i have been unconsiously doing all that (most of the time, in most areas) already, at the same time, it helps me put to perspective that i could continue and do more for my children.

(1) Bonding - a healthy stable and attached relationship with an adult.
(2) Time together - Filling up their love tank daily.
(3) Physical touch - child need physical touch the most when they are least lovable. (i guess i am kind of guilty in this area especially when Tiffy display undesirable actions and behaviour)
(4) Encouragement - child who grow up in an environment of encouragement develops confidence and courage to face difficulties
(5) Boundaries - clear & consistent boundaries to develop feelings of protection and security (i need to firm up on this area as well)
(6) Emotional Availability - connect with them and sharing their emotions.

Little things that make me smile

caught this and it was super duper funny lor..reminds me of slam dunk comic.

A day at eXplorerkid

Brought the girls to back Kids Explorer yet again. yohoo! ehhem, Tiffany corrected me that the name of the place should be eXplorerkid and not Kids Explorer. keke The girls hit the ball pool again. This area is for meant for toddlers, so Melody literally jumped into the pool. Hmmm, this other ball pool is slightly bigger....with colorful lightings illuminating the transparent balls. This time Melody dared to step into the pool! I remembered the last time we came, she had refused to go in. keke...
The girls at the Mega Play area...Natalie was not smiling cos she was still not feeling very well... The girls met their mentor playmate...by the name of Faith, 7 years old girl. She guided the girls along the giant maze and i think they really enjoyed each other company while i jus sit back relax and watch them running around the playground. See the big jie jie holding Melody's hand along...and Melody just followed her without waiting for me! And Melody trusted and willingly slided down with Faith.
and big jie jie brought Tiffy to the tunnel slide. After much hesitation and screams, Tiffany finally slide down the tunnel with our helper in tow. Overheard that the big jie jie gave our helper a big push and down they came! heehee After rounds of slides, climbing and screaming, Tiffany sadly bid goodbye to the big jie jie.

Fever Subsided

Finally, the fever in Natalie is gone. It had been trying for the past few days. I had to wake up in the middle of the night to feed her medicine. She had been feverish and not been drinking milk and food intake was minimal. She had lost a good deal of weight. Will try to help her put back on when she is feeling better. Today, she is still not drinking milk probably due to her block nose bah...

Its no wonder that we parents are the most worried when our children are not in good health.

High Fever

It was just last night that I decided to slip down to the mattress to sleep with Natalie. And was just fortunate that i did so becos she suddenly had fever at about 4.30am. Had i not sleep with her, i wouldnt be able to give her medicine in time.

The fever subsided a bit and was up again by the morning when the medicine effect wore off. The temperature climbed to 39.6degrees. Gosh, *panick again*, rushed her to A&E. It seemed that all the girls had to go A&E once in their childhood life. Anyway, the doctor checked and did not dignose any serious problem. So sent us home and continue with the medication that i was already giving her *faintz*.

24 hours, i am lacking of sleep and arms are aching from having to carry her soothing her and sponging her. But thank God that her fever seemed to be under control. Just gave her fever medicine cos she woke up whinning again.

"Handy Manny"

Think Melody has been watching too much PLayhouse Disney - Handy Manny. While she was scribbling on paper...the next moment, she stuck the pen behind her ear just like the character Handy Manny!

Performance at School's Assembly

Today, I sent Tiffany to school. And as usual, i loved to see her at assembly cos they will sing school songs and bible songs before going back to classes. When they sing bible songs, it always reminds me of the days when i attended Sunday school classes. And it seemed that the exhaltations and praises gave me renewed strength hmm is it God reaching out to me....

Ok, I had a pleasant surprise when teacher called upon her class Faith A, for a performance! Apparently, they had been rehearsing but was tad disappointed that the teachers did not inform about the performance so that i can get my camera my video and watever ready. But luckily, eddaddy had one camera on hand *yippee*

the performance...

a short clip...

Lights Camera Action!

Love to hear Melody sing...lalalalala
